Studio Kirkland is kind of a publisher? We design and publish really nice copies of new or semi-obscure books.
As an outgrowth of Matt's involvement with the Charles Williams Society, we designed and printed collector's hardback editions of Williams novels. They're really great, despite their esoteric reputation. Before, his books were only available in cheap, print-on-demand paperbacks with embarrassing designs. Now: we published these collector's editions!
The first book got seed funding from the Society, and the other six were funded by sales from the first.
All seven novels are in print now, and you can buy the full set. The Charles Williams Library editions are hardbound, with cloth covers and foil stamping on the covers.
Inside, you'll find modern typography in the best bookmaking tradition. Printed in pure black with bright spot colors.
They're sized right in the sweet spot: easy in the hand but a respectable presence on the bookshelf.
This was a limited edition printing, and they're almost sold out now. You can get them if they're still available!

This is the kind of book I wanted to exist!
I'm a firm believer in big margins, room for you hand and your annotations
The covers are clothbound, with color foil and debossing
Each book has one themed spot color, printed on every page.
Each book has a bright full color endpaper. I designed an icon for each book in the series.
